Anyone who carries out manual handling activities at work

The course will cover;
The process of manual handling in the workplace
including demonstration and practice in using manual handling aids /hoists etc
• Manual handling injuries and the activities which cause
them
• Manual handling assessment and control options
• Responsibilities imposed by the Manual Handling
Operations Regulations
By the end of the course the student will be able to;
• Explain what is meant by the term “manual handling”
• Explain how manual handling can cause injury
• State the principles for controlling manual handling risks
and applying these
• Demonstrate a general understanding of the value an
purposes of conducting a manual handling assessment
and what employees can expect of such assessments
• Demonstrate an understanding of the main provisions of
the Manual Handling Operations Regulations

Assessment is by means of a short objective test of 20
questions

After successful completion of the end of course each delegate will recieve an in house certificate
