Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults
A half day course designed to raise awareness of the situations where abuse could occur, the different types of abuse and procedures for reporting abuse. A certificate of attendance will be issued upon completion.

All care staff working with vulnerable adults

A half day course, requiring 4 hours classroom work, but can be divided into two 2 hour modules.

The course objectives are;
- to raise awareness of the types of abuse which occur
- how to intervene to protect all vulnerable adults who are potentially and actually at risk
- to categorise the types of abuse
- understand the underlying factors
- recognise potential or actual abusive situations
- understand the background legislation and guidance
- to be able to apply the procedures according to the guidance issued.

Assessment of gained knowledge is through the completion of a multiple choice questionnaire.

All candidates will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance on the completion of the course, and question sheets issued during the course that can be used for portfolio evidence for NVQ.
