Health and Safety
A one day course, but can be split into three separate modules of approximately two and a half hours. Gives the candidates knowledge in all aspects of health and safety at work. Successful completion of the end of course exam will lead to a nationally recognised qualification through the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

Senior staff/supervisors and staff who work in unsupervised
situations, however all staff would benefit from attending the
course.

A course requiring approximately six hours classroom time and
an allowed one hour for the examination. Candidates will need
to read their course books in their own time to consolidate on
the information given in the classroom.

The objectives of the course are;
understand the principles of occupational health and safety and to apply this knowledge in the workplace,
state and understand their legal and moral responsibilities whilst at work
be aware of the practical actions to improve their own health and safety and that of colleagues and others
• be aware of the need to report accidents and dangerous occurrences, defective equipment and possible safety hazards
• be aware of action to take in an emergency.

All candidates will be required to undertake an end of course,
multiple choice examination,

Successful completion of the end of course examination will
result in a nationally recognised qualification; the Foundation
Certificate in Health and Safety, issued through the Chartered
Institute of Environmental Health.
