| A half day course giving the basic information required by a care worker prior to assisting service users. Course attendees will be able to see and handle the equipment, catheters, bags etc. A certificate of attendance will be issued on completion of the course. |

Infection Control Details |
| A half day course which, through presentation and discussion, will highlight the main aspects of the subject, causes of infection, sources of infection, routes of infection, times when personal protective equipment must be worn. Assessment will be through answering set questions and demonstrating effective hand washing technique. On the successful completion of this course candidates will be issued with a course certificate. |

Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults Details |
| A half day course designed to raise awareness of the situations where abuse could occur, the different types of abuse and procedures for reporting abuse. A certificate of attendance will be issued upon completion. |

Dementia Awareness Details |
| A half day course which will give carers an insight into the difficulties which can be expected when working with sufferers of dementia, how to overcome some problems and how to best assist dementia sufferers. A certificate of attendance will be issued upon completion. |

Cross Cultural Awareness Details |
| A half day course designed to raise the awareness of cultural differences that may affect the successful delivery of care, cause undue problems or embarrassment and establish how and when to obtain information on specific cultural issues. There is no assessment of gained knowledge for this course. All students will be issued with a Certificate fo Attendance on completion of the course. |

Health and Safety Details |
| A one day course, but can be split into three separate modules of approximately two and a half hours. Gives the candidates knowledge in all aspects of health and safety at work. Successful completion of the end of course exam will lead to a nationally recognised qualification through the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. |

| A one day course but candidates will need to read their course books in their own time to consolidate on the information given in the classroom. First Aid Appointed Person Details |
| A one day course which provides an introduction to basic first aid techniques to cover health emergency situations that the worker may experience whilst at work. The training is in the form of a presentation backed up by group exercises and discussion, demonstration and practical application. On completion candidates will be able to demonstrate knowledge by the practical application of techniques and answering a set question paper. On the successful completion of this course the candidate will be issued with a Course Certificate. |
